Gordon Miller was doing Storm Front on 850 The Buzz tonight, and he predicted.. no he guaranteed a Carolina win over the Columbus Blue Jackets this evening. Carolina certainly is a better team - they're a better team than a lot of the people they're playing right now.. but to guarantee a win? That's just crazy!
Well, I had the pleasure of attending this game with my 3 year old daughter, courtesy of tickets I won on 620 The Bull. The seats were awesome - about 14 rows up directly behind the north goal.
With no scoring in the first period, the Canes went on the attack towards the goal I was sitting behind, and Rod Brind'Amour was kind enough to put two goals in the net.
Now, when you're sitting upstairs, you kind of rely on seeing other people jump up in order to know when your team has scored. Alternatively, you wait to see the players react, or you see the light go on, or you hear the horn blow.
With both goals being scored directly in front of me, I knew the instant those goals were scored. It was pretty sweet seeing the puck bounce to the back of the net. I liked those seats! Not that I don't like my cheap seats upstairs - that's how I'm able to go to 24 games on my own dollar. But don't ever turn down seats behind the goal!
The homestand continues Saturday against the New jersey Devils.
